Swirling around with American Standard's whirlpool cleaning
tips
Your whirlpool has taken care of you by washing away
your aching feet and tense muscles. Now it's time to take care of
your whirlpool by washing away its soap gunk and residue. But, do
you know how to thoroughly clean your whirlpool system? American
Standard offers professional whirlpool cleaning tips. Use a general
cleaning solution of warm water and a mild liquid detergent, such
as Tide when cleaning the whirlpool basin. Be sure to use a cloth
opposed to an abrasive scouring pad, which may scratch the surface.

You know when your whirlpool basin needs cleaning,
but do you know how or even how often you should be cleaning the
circulatory system? The circulatory system should be cleaned at
least every three months. To do so, fill the basin with hot water
and drop in two teaspoons of dishwasher detergent and one-half cup
of household bleach. Run the whirlpool system for approximately
two minutes. Drain the system and refill with cold water. Circulate
the system with only cold water for five minutes, then drain completely.
Now that your system is clean inside and out, you'll
want to make your whirlpool shine like new. Restore any dull areas
by rubbing them with white automotive polishing compound. Then,
shine using a manufacturer-recommended wax. Be sure not to use wire
brushes, knives or sharp objects to remove stains or surface blemishes;
they can damage the acrylic surface. After all your hard work cleaning,
stand back and look at it shine like new.
