American Standard colors your bathroom.
A little color goes along way, especially in the bathroom.
And with the emergence of new color palettes, or range of colors,
there is a world of decorating possibilities. Because color is subjective,
the number one factor in determining your bathroom's color palette
is your personal taste. When deciding on that perfect color, use
the following suggestions by American Standard.
Mood: What mood are you looking
to create in your bathroom? Warm and inviting? Fun and light-hearted?
The color combinations play a large role in creating the room's
ambience. Dark or dramatic colors offer a sense of intimacy and
may be better suited for smaller rooms, such as a powder room. Lighter
colors create an open, airy feeling that can make small rooms feel
larger or large rooms feel grandiose. Determining the mood of your
bath is one of the first steps to help you decide which color palette
to choose.
Lighting: Don't stop there. The
room's lighting is another point of consideration. The amount of
both natural and artificial light in a room can greatly affect the
color. Before deciding on a color, test several of them. Paint a
small area and observe how the color changes throughout the day.
What looks nice in the morning may look dramatically different in
the evening.
Accessories: Lastly, consider the
accent colors, including the flooring and furniture. Finding the
perfect color may be as simple as picking a slightly different hue
of a color already there. If you want to err on the side of caution,
use neutral hues, such as American Standard's warm white, linen
or bone for the wall color and accent with your favorite colors.
That way if you want a change your color scheme, it will be easy
to create a whole new look and feel. Once you've determined your
color palette, decorating should be easy.
