Moen transforms your bathroom in a weekend

One of the most popular rooms in the house to remodel is the bathroom. Many homeowners are tired of the same old look in the bathroom, but don’t have the budget to remodel. Moen offers a few quick ideas that will create a fresh look, most of which can be accomplished in a weekend.

  • Consider updating that old medicine cabinet with a simple, wood-framed mirror. Carry the wood theme even further--add an armoire, a small cabinet for towels or even a bookshelf. It’s amazing what a difference this little change will make in the room.
  • Painting is always a simple weekend project that quickly spruces up a bathroom. If possible, always use mold and mildew-proof primers and paint. Surprisingly enough, the hot bathroom colors are watery blues and greens, but neutral colors are always a safe bet.
  • If you want to go one-step beyond painting, try wainscoting and bead boarding half a wall. These decorating techniques can transform a bland space to an elegant room; however, they require more time and money than painting.
  • Adding colored or patterned hand-towels and throw rugs is a terrific way to completely change the scheme in your bath. This is an inexpensive way for homeowners to update their bath, yet remain versatile enough to easily change as new trends emerge.
  • Replace those outdated, scratched faucets. Installing a new faucet is one of the quickest and easiest ways to add a new look. Another added touch is to install the suite of matching towel bars, towel rings and toilet paper holder to complement the faucet.
  • Instead of replacing an entire vanity unit, simply replace the counter top. This yields a different look while saving money. Another idea is to replace the vanity drawer knobs and door handles.
